i can hear the
moon, star
congregations
clappin
and stompin their feet,
singing
the weight of their tears,
praising
Jah for blessings,
swelling
with the Spirit.
“Amen!”
they are in agreement.
they are aligned.
meanwhile,
i lay in bed
confused.
or insecurely certain.
debating faith
on whether
we are praying
for the same things.

I hear the sound of your words.
cool poem!
🙂
powerful words:P Totally loving this, thank for sharing such a wonderful poem~=P
Oh WOWW!! Loved the thought, and the words to match that thought! The last few lines were totally awesome! Are we praying for the same things indeed?!?!
Beautifully written!
An interesting notion — what are people praying for? Are we on the same page, or is it all about the self?
Thoughtful and layered poem, can mean several things.

A poem that makes so much sense!! I’ve had those moments of arguments inside my head.. can totally relate to it
I like the way the last verse swings it around and makes us question the early part of the poem. It flows wonderfully. Provoking theme too.
Yes, what they said above, I love how you turn at meanwhile and contrast your own doubt with the magisterial music of the cosmos. Nice work, Patrice
very nice, all the Amens…yes many say them..do they believe…must always question –but the answer remains the same….blessings…bkm
questions we all ask!
Well penned!

I loved this so very much…keep writing:)
I love the celestial notes in your first stanza. Its as if the heavens can see something you can not. Rejoicing for you as you remain uncertain. What a great piece.
Thanks for sharing this piece; I love that you’re debating with faith.
And I like the setup of your blog, with the Seeds page and your gorgeous (original?) artwork. I’ll be back again.
thanks! (not original artwork, i wish! if i can find the artist i post his or her name beneath the art or at the end of each piece…)
